The Registered Behavior
Technician (RBT) is responsible for providing direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the clients through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction. The RBT supports the clients in their development of basic living and social skills. Duties are performed under the direct supervision of the BCBA supervisor.
Primary Duties:
Direct Support Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of clients during service hours Provide behavior management and therapies as guided by behavior support plan Provide supportive mentoring and guidance Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment. Participate in ongoing development and supervision of milieu meetings, activities, groups, clubs, and outings Provide support during client's vocational training. It is required to work alongside client, engaged in the same job duties and adhering to same policies and procedures of the workplace (may include washing dishes, janitorial services, etc.) Develop and maintain positive relationships with participant and team Communicate with treatment team on a regular basis Drive participants to appointments and activities Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times Behavior Intervention Assist participant growth and development in social, emotional, physical, vocational, recreational, and cultural arenas Assist participants in developing social, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Work alongside treatment team in developing and implementing behavior management strategies for participants, including setting, and enforcing limits for behavior Use de-escalation skills in managing crises Monitor participants' ongoing needs; communicate with treatment team to ensure that these needs are met Attend and participate in all required meetings and in-service training sessions in order to develop and maintain skills Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned Perform other off-site duties as assigned Participate in weekly meetings, trainings, etc. as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
Must be recognized by the BACB as a Registered Behavior Technician in good standing High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) preferred or international equivalent from four-year college or university in Education, Psychology, or related field. Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities desirable.
Requires initiative, creativity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic computer skills necessary.
Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR and Core Competency Training and Direct Support Professional Training and other training as required. Must have current California Driver's license/Insurance and clean DMV. Must receive criminal record clearance through the DOJ. Must be able to successfully complete PCMA training within the first 90 days of hire. Physical Requirements: Ability to drive company and/or personal vehicle for work, including transporting clients to and from work and/or appointments as needed, maintain valid driver's license and car insurance, if required to drive for position. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
