Position Title: Registered Behavior Technician Apprenticeship Instructor
Program: Pennsylvania Approved RBT Registered Apprenticeship Program
Instruction Format: Virtual instruction via Zoom
Schedule: Two evenings per week, 2 hours per class, after 5:00 p.m.
Weekly Hours: Approximately 4 hours of direct instruction, plus 2 paid hours of preparation time
Compensation: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Overview
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Registered Behavior Technician Apprenticeship Instructor to teach the Related Technical Instruction component of our Pennsylvania approved RBT Registered Apprenticeship Program. This is a part time virtual teaching position delivered through Zoom.
Classes will be held two evenings per week, with each class lasting approximately 2 hours. Class times will take place after 5:00 p.m., such as, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., or a similar evening schedule based on program needs and instructor availability.
The instructor will provide engaging, practical, and career focused instruction to apprentices preparing for work in behavioral health, Applied Behavior Analysis, and related human service settings. All instructional materials, curriculum content, and program guidance will be provided. The instructor is responsible for delivering the approved content, supporting apprentice learning, tracking participation, and maintaining a professional virtual classroom environment.
This role is not a full time clinical therapy position. It is an instructional role focused on helping apprentices understand ABA foundations, ethical practice, data collection, behavior support, documentation, professional conduct, and workplace readiness.
Key Responsibilities
The RBT Apprenticeship Instructor will be responsible for delivering weekly virtual instruction aligned with the approved apprenticeship training plan. Responsibilities include:
Teach approximately 4 hours per week of Related Technical Instruction through Zoom.
Deliver instruction two evenings per week, with each class session lasting approximately 2 hours.
Receive 2 additional paid hours per week for preparation, review of materials, and instructional planning.
Use provided curriculum materials, lesson plans, instructional resources, and program content.
Facilitate virtual classroom discussions, case examples, role play, group activities, and applied learning exercises.
Explain core Applied Behavior Analysis concepts in a clear and practical way for adult learners entering the behavioral health field.
Provide instruction in areas such as data collection, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, documentation, ethics, crisis prevention, professional conduct, and workplace readiness.
Support apprentices in understanding the role and expectations of an RBT within a supervised behavioral health, educational, or community based setting.
Track attendance, participation, assignments, and apprentice progress as required by the program.
Communicate concerns about apprentice progress, attendance, or performance to program leadership in a timely manner.
Maintain a professional, supportive, and respectful virtual learning environment for apprentices from diverse backgrounds.
Collaborate with program staff, employer partners, and apprenticeship leadership to support successful apprentice completion.
Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:
Current RBT certification or a higher credential in the Applied Behavior Analysis, behavioral health, or related human services field.
Examples of higher credentials may include BCaBA, BCBA, LBS, licensed behavioral health professional, special education certification, psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related credential.
Experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis, behavioral health, education, human services, special education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
Experience working with children, youth, adults, or families in behavioral health, school based, clinical, community based, or human service settings.
Strong understanding of ABA principles, ethical practice, behavior support, documentation, and professional boundaries.
Ability to teach adult learners in a clear, structured, and engaging manner.
Comfort teaching virtually through Zoom or a similar online platform.
Availability to teach evening classes after 5:00 p.m., two days per week.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Ability to follow provided curriculum materials and connect classroom content to real workplace practice.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred:
Experience teaching, training, coaching, or supervising staff in behavioral health, human services, education, or workforce development.
Experience with apprenticeship programs, adult education, career training, or community based workforce programs.
Knowledge of Pennsylvania behavioral health systems, school based services, autism support services, or employer based training models.
Experience using Zoom, Google Classroom, Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or similar learning platforms.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This is a part time virtual instructional position with approximately 6 paid hours per week, including:
4 hours per week of direct virtual instruction through Zoom
2 hours per week of paid preparation time
Classes will be scheduled two evenings per week after 5:00 p.m. Possible schedules may include:
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The final class schedule will be determined based on program needs, apprentice availability, and instructor availability.
Compensation ranges from $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience, credentials, and qualifications.
All RBT apprenticeship instructional materials, curriculum content, and program resources will be provided.
