About the position
The Behavior Analyst leads the assessment, development, and implementation of evidence-based behavior interventions to support student learning, engagement, and wellbeing. Working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals, the Behavior Analyst ensures effective behavior support systems are in place, promotes positive behavior across the school, and helps remove barriers to learning for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The role also includes providing case supervision, training and supervising Behavior Therapists to ensure high-quality, consistent implementation of intervention plans.
Responsibilities
Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)Design and implement evidence-based interventions to support behavior and skill developmentProvide direct intervention through push-in and pull-out modelsMonitor, analyze, and adjust interventions based on student data and progressSupport the implementation of individualized accommodations and strategiesProvide case supervision for students receiving behavior support servicesTrain, supervise, and coach Behavior Therapists to ensure fidelity of implementationMonitor and evaluate the quality and consistency of interventions deliveredProvide performance feedback, modeling, and ongoing professional supportEnsure ethical and professional standards are upheld in all servicesSupport the development and implementation of a school-wide behavior framework (e.g., PBIS)Promote consistent, proactive approaches to behavior management across the schoolSupport crisis prevention and intervention strategiesContribute to a positive, inclusive school climateDeliver professional development to staff on behavior management and evidence-based practicesSupport teachers in applying behavior strategies, accommodations, and classroom interventionsModel best practices and build staff capacity in supporting diverse learner needsMonitor fidelity of intervention implementation and provide feedbackWork closely with teachers, SENCo, and leadership to coordinate student supportCommunicate effectively with parents regarding behavior plans and progressParticipate in multidisciplinary meetings and student support planningCollect, maintain, and analyze data on student behavior and intervention outcomesMaintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with ethical and school requirementsContribute to student reviews, IEPs, and Learning Support PlansEnsure compliance with professional (BACB) standards and school policiesRequirements
Degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Education with Behavior Analyst certificationMinimum 3–5 years’ experience supporting students with behavioral needsStrong expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)Skilled in data collection, analysis, and intervention planningStrong leadership and coaching skillsAbility to manage complex and challenging behaviorsExcellent communication and organizational skillsCommitment to inclusion and student wellbeingPatient, empathetic, and resilientCollaborative and solution-focusedNice-to-haves
